Dissemination Activities

In order to accomplish the overriding mission of our RERC to improve the lives of children who have orthopedic disabilities, a multifaceted dissemination plan has been implemented. Target audiences include children with orthopedic disabilities, their parents and advocates, clinicians, therapists, other service providers, and researchers.

Generally these groups fall into three populations:
  1. Researchers
  2. Practitioners
  3. Consumers
Our dissemination plan has five specific features:
  1. RERC dissemination activities run parallel to the NIDRR Performance Measures and include information products such as the percentage of fellows and trainees who publish, high quality accomplishments (e.g. tools, methods, discoveries, standards, interventions, programs, and devices), publications, effectiveness studies, new devices and technologies transferred for potential commercialization
  2. Our disseminated information will be free and broadly available via our websites
  3. Our information will be structured to increase accessibility
  4. Our discoveries and developments will be successfully transferred for end user impact as we will not be satisfied with developments that are not applied
  5. We will consult and link to the national KU and TT funded agencies not only as it is prescribed, but also to assure the broadest dissemination outlets.
